We remember. We never forget.
September 11th will forever be remembered as one of the world’s most devastating events to ever face our nation. Patriot Day is a day for us all to remember and honor the thousands of individuals who were killed and injured on this day.
Most of us remember exactly where we were and what we were doing on the morning of September 11th. As we watched together in horror as events unfolded on that awful day, the entire nation joined together in grief. Let us come together in honor of the events of September 11, 2001, and the many lives that were lost.
September 11th is also about acknowledging the brave individuals who acted so selfless when challenged with this overwhelming event. It’s time to thank all first responders, iron workers, maintenance workers, hospital staff, and even bystanders who didn’t hesitate to help. Patriot Day is a day to pay tribute to Flight 93 and the 40 people coming together and acting heroically.
Let us work together to make this world a better place for all people. Let us pledge to recognize our interdependence on each other and celebrate our differences, today and every day.
“Even the smallest act of service, the simplest act of kindness, is a way to honor those we lost, a way to reclaim that spirit of unity that followed 9/11.” – President Obama, 2011 Radio Address
