University of Michigan Health System Selects SCC Soft Computer for Implementation of New Clinical Information System

December 9, 2008

Clearwater, FL- SCC Soft Computer (SCC) has announced that University of Michigan Health System has selected SCC’s comprehensive suite of clinical information systems to replace their current laboratory information system (LIS). Modules purchased include, SoftLab™ (SCC’s flagship LIS), SoftMic® (microbiology), SoftBank® (blood services), SoftDonor® (blood donor services), SoftBill™plus (billing), SoftID™ (positive patient identification) and SCC’s Genetics Information Systems Suite™ (software management for genetics laboratories that specialize in cytogenetics, molecular diagnostics, flowcytometry, and HLA/immunogenetics).

“While working with University of Michigan Health System during the selection process, we knew that our software would accommodate their needs,” said Gilbert Hakim, CEO, SCC Soft Computer. “Because we have a wide range of products that are specifically developed for large multisite facilities and teaching hospitals, such as University of Michigan, we understand that the selection of a new LIS must be a long, well thought out process. We are extremely happy to be the final choice. Switching an entire LIS does have its challenges, but we are confident in our dedicated staff who will be working to ensure that the implementation process is successful and that every requirement has been met.”
